1 Obtain a set of application forms from OLJ. These can be downloaded at the OLJ website.
2 Submit your completed Application for Admission to OLJ Language Academy Review your application and determine whether or not you are eligible to apply for a College Student Visa to study at OLJ. It is very important that all questions on all forms be answered completely and accurately. The Immigration Bureau of Japan will also be reviewing these forms and will reject your application if they discover any incomplete or false information.
3 Inform the applicant of the result of our review.
4 If informed that your application has been accepted, you are required to transfer Yen 25,000 to OLJ’s bank account (visa application fee). If your application is rejected by the Immigration Bureau, OLJ will not refund the visa application fee (Yen 25,000).
5 Upon receiving your Yen 25,000 bank transfer, OLJ will submit your application to the Immigration Bureau. The Immigration Bureau accepts College Student Visa applications only four times per year; in March, May, September and November
6 If your application to the Immigration Bureau is successful, the Immigration Bureau will remit to OLJ your “Certificate of Eligibility”. OLJ will inform you accordingly. The Immigration Bureau typically requires 90 days to review and process a College Student Visa application
7 Upon being informed that OLJ has received your “Certificate of Eligibility” from the Immigration Bureau, you are required to transfer payment for your first year’s tuition as well as any other expenses to OLJ’s bank account.
8 Upon receiving your bank transfer, OLJ will send you your certificate of Eligibility
9 Upon receiving the Certificate of Eligibility from OLJ, you must contact a Japanese embassy or consulate in your home country to apply for student visa. The Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Immigration Bureau and forwarded to you by OLJ is valid for three months only. If the holder of the Certificate of Eligibility does not enter Japan within this three month period, the Certificate is automatically voided and the holder will be denied entry into Japan.
